Wilhelm Kage, Dragon Stoneware

Designer: Wilhelm K├ąge
Year: 1940

Length 18 cm

Objekt number: MP 083

Rare blue figurine, signed and produced in the 1940s, Gustavsberg, Sweden. Kages dragon sculpture was inspired from China, but is mostly a result of his fantasy world. He developed this idea into a dragon fish in the beginning of the 1950s. This not so grand, but definitely humoristic figurine was made as a series of mother and baby dragons, meant to function as conversation pieces on the dinner table.
